  • Just a reminder, students are advised to bring a drink with them to dance classes, particularly Street and Cheer lessons. Teachers have noticed that with the hot weather approaching students without drinks are looking dehydrated, and unfortunately we’re not able to provide you with refreshments, much as we’d love to, so it is your own responsibility to ensure you have a drink with you at every class.

THE SCHOOL

TSOD provides lessons for children from the age of 2 to adult, covering Ballet, Tap, Street Dance and Cheerleading, for both boys and girls, which culminate in two Shows held each year.

I’m sure every parent watching the Show is bursting with pride when their ‘little star’ shines, for me it seems almost impossible as I was told my son would never walk, and he didn’t until he was six years old.

So to see him on the stage “dancing” with the other children makes me not only burst with pride but cry with joy!

Our aim for the School is to accept children of all ages and levels, including those with Special Needs, and to help them develop in confidence and ability. No exams are taken, but the children's achievements are measured by the increase in their own self-esteem and the awards made annually.

The School is also very much a 'family' business. Not only was it started by Tanya, Kerry's mum, and is now being continued by Kerry, but the whole school is regarded very much as an extended family, from those joining as young as two right up to those who come back from University as Lead Dancers, together with the incredibly supportive family and friends (both those from the school and those with no connection at all!) who help put together the whole package. Everyone is encouraged to feel a sense of belonging, and we welcome those enquiries about how the students and their own families can become even more involved, whether as Lead Dancers or Teaching Assistants, or behind the scenes. We are extremely proud of our friendly young Teaching Team, who create a non threatening teaching environment - Dancing is for Fun, not Fuss!!

Becca, Kerry, Nathan and Sophie - TSOD TeachersOver the last couple of years, we have achieved a tremendous amount with the School and other activities, information on which is contained in the Newsletter given out in class each term, and here on the website.
