Spring Term Plans
2010 is set to be TSOD's biggest year yet. Not only are we expanding our weekly Dance Classes by adding two new venues in Dinton and Fairford Leys, Aylesbury, but we have also invested in three Bouncy Castles which will be the beginning of a new division of our business - TSOD Bounce! (Bouncy Castle Hire)
In January all of our Students will be set to start working towards our Summer Show spectacular, taking place in June 2010 (dates will be announced in your January 2010 Newsletter).
Due to the success of our Adult Dance Classes, we are also expanding this discipline, and will be available for hire for Hen Parties as soon as possible, as well as continuing our weekly dance class and launching TSOD Shake - a brand new innovation in technology, and a way to 'shake' yourself slim without the hassle of using a gym - details coming soon!

Previous News
Starting on Friday 6th November 2009, a 6 week trial term will be held at Raquets Fitness Centre, Thame, with the First Lesson Free! Classes are for girls and boys aged 5 to 11 years, and will be from 4.20pm to 5.20pm. The cost will be £4 per class.
Cheerleading is a really fun and active way to dance, learning fast upbeat routines to modern chart music with the use of pompoms. Acrobatic movements can be used as well as learning chants. It helps to improve flexibility and builds strength and stamina. A fantastically fun dance discipline, and great for anyone who wants to work as part of a team, keep fit, and learn something new and challenging.
Please let your Teacher know as soon as possible if you would be interested in joining TSOD Cheer, as places will be limited (we may well start these classes in one venue, then expand, depending on where demand is high).
Bicester Classes Big Hit!!
This term TSOD have moved their Launton Classes out to the new venue of West Bicester Community Centre. We have gained over 40 new students by doing this, and it's great to have so many new faces 'on board'! On Friday nights there is an Intermediate Street Dance Class with Nathan, and on Saturday mornings he teaches the first two classes, after which Kerry teaches the Tap.
Children who have joined range from as young as 3 up to 15 years old, all taking Street Dance Classes with us, so come and see what it's all about if you live in this area (see Classes Page for more details).
Christmas Show Date and New Venue Announced
This year's Christmas Show, 'Glitter In The Air', will be both a Street Dance Show and Prize Giving, taking place on Sunday 6th December 2009 at the Thame Leisure Centre from 2pm to 4.30pm. Detailed letters will be given out at Class.
Another Success - Adult Dance Classes!
We've been running Adult Dance Classes at the Leisure Centre in Thame for the past couple of weeks, and we're overwhelmed with their success, with over 20 men and women attending each week, ranging from 18 years to 50. Classes are from 8pm to 9pm each Tuesday, and cost £5 per class if paid termly, or £6 per class if paid weekly.
Learn a new Dance Routine per week, covering such dance styles as Street, Rock'n'Roll, Salsa, Disco and Freestyle.
So now you can join in the TSOD fun as well as getting fit for the fast approaching Christmas Season!
[Please note, this Class is open to the public, so please tell all your friends, as spaces will be limited.]
Please contact us for more details on how to join.
New Teacher
Over the past couple of years you will have noticed TSOD has been growing and developing in lots of ways. We have gradually introduced new Teachers and teaching techniques, enabling us to expand and achieve so much more.
Up until recently Kerry has been running most of the Classes herself, with the help of Becca and Nathan. This September Kerry has made Nathan Head of Street Dance, and Sophie Heggie (pictured left) will be joining the Team and working under him at some of our Classes.
Becca's role will be more concentrated on teaching Ballet and Tap, although she will be keeping on some of the Street groups in Brill and Long Crendon.
Kerry will specialise in teaching the older Students and, of course, her daytime Classes in schools, leaving her more time to run new Classes such as the Adult ones. She will of course still attend most lessons to see you all!
For more on which Classes each Teacher will be taking in September 2009, please see our current Timetable, and for more details on your individual Teachers, please visit our Teachers Page.
* Summer Workshop Tour 2009 *
TSOD has just run a week of successful Workshops. We normally just hold our Workshops in Haddenham, where our School is based, but this Summer we branched out and held them at Ickford, Thame, Watlington and Little Milton, as well as our original venue in Haddenham.
Children could choose from either High School Musical or 'New Rave Street Dance', which also involved making and creating a costume to perfom the two challenging Street routines they learnt.
High School Musical Groups learnt dances, played games and sang to music from all three films, as well as having faces painted and temporary tattoos!
New Rave Street Dancers learnt routines throught the week to Flo Rida, Dizzee Rascal, Black Eyed Peas and JLS. The girls created fantastic fluoroscent bright netted tutus to wear, and the guys graffitteed and customised T-shirts.
We then performed our dances at the end of each Workshop in a mini Show, followed by a presetnation of prizes to the best dancers of each day!
A big 'Thank you' to all those of you who came and joined in with the fun - look out for our 'Halloween Spooky Fun Day' in the Autumn Half Term Break!
* Thame Carnival - 13th June 2009 - TSOD Winners! *
This year TSOD were invited to be involved in the Thame Carnival and Parade, which took place on Saturday 13th June 2009.
We were the only entry with a Float, so we really stood out, and were lucky enough to win Best Entry! Interoute kindly provided us with our Float, which we spent Friday night and Saturday morning decorating.
We chose our three Lead Dance Troupes to be on the lorry, showing an array of ages and styles.
'The Lollipops' were dressed in brightly coloured outfits, while the 'Urban Divas' were sophisticated in little black dresses, with 'Toxic Glitter' in our school colour pink glitter dresses with towering heels - a lot of hard work went into trying not to fall over while dancing on the moving float, and our feet certainly suffered the next day!
A fantastic day was had by all; it was such fun, and it has been great to have had so much positive feedback about our entry in the event.
People loved the glamour and energy we gave - of course that's what we're all about!
We were also lucky enough to have Mark Whitney, our new photographer, on board (literally!), who took some great photos of the event - have a look at our Gallery.
[Don't forget, you will need to use your browser 'Back' button to return to this page.]
A big 'Thank You' to all of those who helped out in the Parade, and of course to my gorgeous team of dancers for looking so fab and making me so proud once again.
