Babies Ballet is the perfect class for your child if they've shown a keen interest in 'Ballet' music and dressing as a fairy!
This class aims to build confidence and social skills, and to help with balance and co-ordination, combining basic Ballet steps with singing, miming and movement.
Following on from Babies Ballet, these classes take the children through the stages of basic Ballet training, accepting all levels and abilities. The classes aim to improve balance and posture and to give a fuller understanding of musical interpretation. These classes also help to build confidence and the ability to work as part of a team.
These classes allow pupils to progress through to owning their own pair of point shoes (every little girl's dream!). The students get to work on their own choreography as well as more disciplined set work, concentrating on Show work and Presentation Events.
A fun and active way to learn to dance, concentrating on learning different rhythyms and steps which can be combined to create some lively and challenging dance routines.
Again, a very challenging and fun way to learn to dance and keep fit. Classes aim to build stamina and strength whilst working to different tempos, understanding challenging rhythyms and techniques.
Street Dance Classes accept all children, through to adults, wanting to express themselves through music. The music used is loud (!), modern, often chart music or R&B / HipHop. The dance style is very bold, strong and full of attitude. The classes aim to build confidence, and to get the students working as part of a team, and altogether give the children a sense of belonging.
Street Dance is our most popular style of dance here at TSOD; our students enjoy working towards two Shows per year, at Christmas and in the Summer, either with their own work or with set choreography. The movements are very challenging but fun.
We invite anyone, and do not create a competitive environment; we are very much a family here at TSOD, and want all our students to feel comfortable and at home.
Cheerleading is a really fun and active way to dance, learning fast upbeat routines to modern chart music with the use of Poms. Acrobatic movement can be used as well as learning chants. It helps to build strength and stamina, as well as improving flexibility. A fantastically fun dance discipline and great for anyone who wants to work as art of a team, keep fit and learn something new and challenging.
Although we only advertise as teaching Ballet, Tap and Street Dance, other dance styles are often covered here at TSOD, such as Salsa, Latin, Rock and Roll, Bollywood, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Cheerleading and Lyrical. We tend to combine these styles in the lessons, which then gives the students far more range and bigger challenges.
These styles can also be covered during Private Lessons and Workshops (see Additional Work page).
